About the District
The Transportation Benefit District is a seven-member board comprised of City Council members. It was established citywide by the City Council in 2008, which implemented a 0.2% sales tax increase that was approved by the voters in 2009. These funds are used for transportation improvements focusing on the following:
- Decreasing travel time
- Improving modal connectivity
- Improving safety
- Increasing daily and peak period trip capacity
- Preserving and maintaining optimal performance of transportation infrastructure
- Reducing the risk of transportation facility failure
